Lateness and a Small Man Complex

Tuesday 21st October was a truly pants day. Here is a list of everything that went wrong:

The train was late. So the only option was to get the next one which stopped at every. single. stop.
This meant I had to rush around the slippery underground to get to uni, and walked into class half an hour late.

As it happened, the lesson was a beginners guide to Photoshop and a complete waste of a morning. I left a few minutes early for a wee and then lost the group, so spent lunch walking around like a lone ranger.

Then I was struck with a fever and dizziness, which was brilliant. I casually followed the same path as I always do to get to our studio to say I wasn't feel well and would miss the afternoon tutorial, and found myself walking through a class of 2nd years. They all looked at me like this...

The worst part was the teacher/lecturer fellow turning around, asking my name and (despite my apology and telling him I didn't know I wasn't supposed to go through there), declaring "LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE, YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO COME THROUGH HERE, SEE, NOW EVERYBODY IS LOOKING AT YOU".

Stupid man.

Oh, and to top it off, I lost the gorgeous new stole I bought yesterday amongst all the rushing and lip-wobbling.

People Fell Over a Lot Today

I want so many things from Poppin, pity that I already have too much stationary...

A lady fainted on my feet this morning, it happened a lot like this:

Luckily there was a trainee nurse on the train and a kind woman who spent 10 minutes fanning her on the floor. I found it so funny that it was only the women that came to the rescue while the men tended to play on their phones like nothing happened. But more to the point: SCREW YOU LONDON MIDLAND! (And well done general public).

Last night at the pub, a friend who shall remain nameless (it might rhyme with with King Pee), informed us that she prefers the girth of a Japanese chopstick, but the length of a Chinese pair.

And now for something different, here are some cats underneath some stuff!

Giant Beans and Asylums

Forgive the fact that I saw it on the Daily Mail website, I really want to take a trip to see this derelict asylum in Lincolnshire. I'd so love to get my hands on the space to restore and repurpose the building!

I was planning on going back to football training tonight, but now I can't because I hurt my ankle. Don't laugh, (although I wont know if you do) but I fell over this afternoon because i was wearing new shoes on laminate flooring. This is a pretty accurate representation of what happened...

Hopefully it's fixed in the morning because I'm taking a tour around some part of London or other (last time it was to see churches that survived the Great Fire of London).

Also, tomorrow evening I'm staying late at uni to sit in on a lecture from Aran Chadwick, the man behind Atelier One, who worked with Anish Kapoor to bring us Cloud Gate, Chicago (aka The Bean).

Happy Wednesday! xoxo

Well Hello There!

Its been... 14 months and 3 weeks since my last post!

My life has changed considerably in that time and I'm finally at a point where I can rejoin the blogosphere (i hate that word). But for those who are nosey enough, here's a summary of what I've been up to:

  • Met someone special
  • Got a job at an office in town
  • Moved into a new apartment
  • Went part time to have time to focus on my soft-furnishings business
  • Applied, Interviewed (including creating a portfolio from scratch in 4 days) and got accepted to study Interior Architecture at Westminster University (yay!)
  • Started the course, gave notice on my apartment and quit my job all in the same week

Workers having a break during the construction of Baker Street Station

So now I'm in the process of renovating my old room at my parent's house to make it a little more grown up and a lot less orange/plastery (photos to come when it's finished!), whilst getting on hands on with the course and generally sorting stuff out!

I'll be back to posting with DIY's, recipes, photography and stuff I've found across the interwebs in between commuting, studying and procrastinating. But for now, here's some stuff and things:
